Autumn in Zamagurie

magical autumn in the scenically attractive region of Slovakia and Poland
Zamagurie is full of picturesque nooks and crannies with views of the Belianske Tatras. Autumn in Zamagurie is magical and full of contrasts. Frequent inversions in the Pieniny Mountains, snowy Belianky Mountains, frost in the valley around Ostrno or beautiful colorful trees in Lapszanka. We will not miss the iconic Štrbské Pleso, whose views of the northern walls of the Tatra Peaks from Poland.
Moreover, I am almost at home in this region, so we will not miss any of the top places (I was the first to start photographing many of them), but we will definitely show you some lesser-known locations. We will definitely not stop at the asphalt road on Lapszanka, the lakes in Ždiar or the transmitter above Osturňa. Zamagurie, the Polish foothills or the Pieniny have a lot to offer, and it would be a shame to stay only in the most overlooked places.
Each participant will receive the workshop materials in PDF format so they can return to them at any time. All editing procedures are available as video tutorials, so you definitely won't forget the procedures by the time you get home :)

Characteristics of the workshop

The workshop is intended primarily for photographers and tourists interested in landscape photography. You can be a complete beginner who wants to see more about the possibilities of your camera, or you can be an advanced photographer who would like to understand the methods of creating a composition or working with light even more deeply. The course is designed for both groups of photographers. Along with that, together we will learn how to use auxiliary equipment more effectively when photographing in the field (tripod, tripod tips, cable trigger, filters), we will explain the importance of planning and something I call systematic photography. Over a beer and a meal, we will talk more about basic but also advanced photo editing (HDR, time blending, focus stacking, etc.).

  • The Zamagurie region is one of the most attractive areas in Slovakia in terms of landscape.
  • Autumn here is full of contrasts and colors. If the conditions are good, there is usually snow on the mountains and everything is beautifully colorful in the foothills.
  • we will visit the most beautiful locations that have become a household name among landscape artists - Osturňa, Lapszanka, Lesnícke sedlo, but also lesser-known places
  • good mood and willingness to explain and thus pass on as much knowledge and experience as possible
  • pleasant accommodation where we always spend a relaxing evening taking photos

Note:
The program is not fixed and depends on the given situation, especially on the weather conditions and so that everyone has the opportunity and time to learn as much as possible on the spot and at the same time take good photos with them. During the entire photo shoot in the field, there will be a joint discussion on various practical topics related to landscape photography.

Necessary photo equipment

  • ideally a digital SLR or mirrorless camera
  • basic wide-angle lens and telephoto lens (ideally with a focal length of approx. 70-200mm for full frame or 50-150 for cameras without a full frame sensor)
  • fixed tripod
  • filters (polarizing, transition, gray) - they are not a necessity but definitely an advantage
  • spare camera battery and memory cards :)

Accommodation during the workshop

  • we will be staying in Ždiar
  • Half board will be included in the accommodation
  • each participant will have a separate room
